Forever is a dream in which you can imagine all you want
Imagine the life you desire
What you wish to have for your eternity
Life cannot go on forever as you’d like
But what is forever?

He tells me, “I’ll love you forever�
The I see him with someone else
How long is forever?

She says, “We’ll be friends forever�
Then the next day she tells me she hates me
How long is forever?

They tell me, “We’ll protect me forever�
Then, in an instant, they’re gone like the rest
How long is forever?

Forever is an illusion
It is as long as it is
But in someone else’s hands
It can be taken away
It can dissipate
Disappear in the blink of an eye

Forever is what you let it be
You and you alone
But you can never really know
When forever ends
