drift through like sands of time
the wrath that's brought
and happiness sent away.
the tears of joy
i once cried
turn into tears of pain.
regrets are useless
what's done is done
and i have you to blame

you should be happy
to be the one
who brings me to tears
at night
when i'm lying in bed
hoping that there'll be
a twist of fate
that'll make my life
just right.

but now through
my heart's apocalypse
dampened cheeks,
no visible light,
depressing songs
ring through my mind,
soundtrack to my life.
tempting knives
to make me see that
burgundy wine stream flow,
and tear away
this layer of obscurity
i just
can't rise above
