True Colours

By Lauraballz

There's so many broken promises I've drawn into the sand,
So many pieces of my heart I've had to mend by hand.
There's four boys I'm in doubt about whose names I cannot speak,
So I'll use colors in their place to show the things I seek.

Number One's a striking red to symbolize a heart,
But also symbolizes blood where I've been torn apart.
He's loved another for a year or maybe even more,
Yet he's the one I've loved so long and still have loving for.

Number Two's an unsure green to symbolize a sea,
Of undiscovered mysteries describing him to me.
Cause he's a hard one to make out, confusing to the end,
I think indeed I loved him once but now he's just a friend.

Number Three's a tired blue to symbolize a tear,
Between the happiness we seek and ties to love's despair.
He's the one who loves my friend but only ends up hurt,
And I'm the girl who's always there to clear away her dirt.

Now Number Four's a tricky one who points to deepened red,
But not in him - The red's in me, because of all he's said.
He let on that he wanted me, which was a big mistake,
Cause even though I don't want him, I'm using him for sake.

Cause I can't have the one I want and now I'm oh-so hopeless,
I didn't quite believe myself when I said I'd turn heartless.
Yet here I am just like the players, using someone too,
Please tell me that I'm not as bad - Just trying to pull through.

xXx
