Stella and James
One stormy night a midnight dreary,
A mother named Stella gave birth & became weak & weary,
Living her life for a child in play,
Leaving this earth nothing he could say,
Holding a child so full of life,
Her eyes blue just like his wife’s
A feeling of sadness grew strong,
But a gift of happiness his heart would belong,
His daughter and her father James alone he would raise,
A sweet little girl who would grow up to amaze,
Do great things with her mothers drive?
It was her father, who kept her dead mother alive,
Within her smile, her charm and wit,
Hard times they bared this he will admit,
One night her father became ill,
She would loose another half that could never fulfill,
Returning the favor of always being there,
A daughter a woman her mother full of tender love and care,
But tonight her mother would not hear her prayer,
To bear his life and make life seem fair,
Sadness grew within her heart,
The same sadness her father felt from the start,
A gift of happiness would appear and take a different tole,
To have both her parents together within her soul,
A few years later she approached both graves,
Side by side there true love lays,
Reaching down for closure at last,
Hearing mommy as a child passed
Gripping both small children’s hands,
Wishing success in their plans,
“Sweeties on those stones can you read those names
“Yes, the small children replied their ours….Stella and James
