I miss seeing his beautiful face
Always carrying a smile
And waiting for him every day
So we could talk a while
I miss the sugary taste
His kisses left on my lips
and just the sweet sensation
Of every morning's bliss
He brought out the best in me
He saw me through each day
I'd never be able to live
Without him to light the way
But one day
My world went dark
I didn't know where to turn
To find even the smallest spark
I couldn't see him
It was like he vanished into thin air
Little did I know
That he was no longer there
My soul went missing
My heart shattered into pieces
My life came tumbling down
My nightmares never ceased
I was so happy with him
I actually wanted to live
But since he disappeared
I've got nothing left to give
For months I lived in lonesome
For nights I cried till sleep
But one day it all changed
When God gave you to me
You brought happiness back into my life
You said it was OK to love again
You waited until I opened my heart
But didn't move till I let you in
I was afraid you'd rip it in half
And then you'd leave me alone to die
Instead you mended the many wounds I had
And I began to cry
I never knew true love or tenderness
Until you came along
And ever since I've been with you
I've sung a brand new song
