Inside Looking Out

By Rachael A. Gilbert

I see the glistening yellow sun breaking throw the old dying willow tree. As the new born lilies dance in the musical wind.

I hear the blue birds waking up from a deep dreamful, slumber and the sound of the discolored dead leaves blowing in the wind.

I smell freshly cut grass and gasoline that's still dangles in the air. I smell the new rosebud's blossom as if they were a gift from God.

I touched my idle, sleepy puppy lying in front of the door. As my feet touched the freezing, cold wet grass covered with dew.

If my blinds were ever slammed shut I would feel emptiness, darkness, and depression in my life. I would not see the rosebud's blossom, or glistening yellow sun breaking through the old dying willow tree.
