The truth is,
I am happy
To mean something to you.
But if I am just a passing thought
In your day- that just won't do.

The truth is,
I am happy
Spending time alone.
But I need more than an hour with you,
More than just a minute on the phone.

The truth is,
I am happy
Knowing you are mine.
But nothing would make me happier
Than if you'd notice I'm worth your time.

The truth is,
I was happy
With the way you used to care.
But you brought me to love's doorstep,
And just left me standing there.

The truth is,
I'm not happy
That you've forgotten what could be.
But the saddest truth of all
Is that you've forgotten me.
