I Used To Know Your Spirit

I used to know your spirit,
I thought I saw your soul.
I never felt the trust I sought
and then, you made me whole.
The many seasons of our life
that led us here today
have seen the spring but turned to fall,
the season of decay.
Our buds no longer blossom,
our leaves take hues of brown,
and dancing on the autumn wind
we've fallen to the ground.
