The Pain Of Reality

By Chloe Breen

How many times can the wind howl and the doves cry?
How many times must it take for us each to say goodbye?
If a mad man kills and the blood flows down
Within it, each of us, in turn will drown,

We do not draw the line between heaven, earth and hell,
Each is deep within us though hidden highly well.
Each day becomes a struggle, each word becomes a breath,
Eventually this all will lead to our untimely deaths.

How much can one despise, how much can one hate,
Where did the love and laughter go, now it seems too late
Together we built a memory which seems so distant now,
Sooner or later it will repeat itself and ill remember it somehow

Because just as you promised me we’d live our lives as one,
We took this earth and destroyed it, have done since it begun.
You tell me not to bury whatever it is I feel,
So I tell you now, one and all, I fear the end is real.
