Sweet Peas

By Lone wanderer

Out in the garden
Where the flowers grow
Live a bunch of sweet peas
All in a row

Their contrasting colors
Light up in the light
All higgldy piggldy
Through day and night

Their tendrils creep
Around close-knitted stems
It’s hard to find where
One begins and another one ends

The violet and lavender
Mix with the blood red and white
With the pale pink and maroon
They make a wonderful sight

All together
The different colors entwine
Not caring about race
Reason or rhyme

It’s a shame we can’t learn
From these wise sweet peas
For then there may be peace
Here and across seas

Lessons can be learnt
From nature out there
Wiser than ever
We should learn not to compare
