Niche

By Jason Meres

I thought i'd try a different poetic style this time, tell me what you think.

Another lie to hide behind,
My disappearing peace of mind.
A brand new act, A world, my stage.
Am I allowed to act my age?

Denied a carefree childs life,
A dead and broken soul of strife.
Am I not young, with life to live?
So early still, with much to give.

A fortune earned, a debt repaid,
Another life, I failed to save.
The pain and grief, I leave behind,
Yet happiness, i'll never find.
