He's Just A kid

Foul Language spewed from his lips
at the tender age of five
his mother repeatedly tried to correct him
his father laughed, saying he's just a kid

the following year while in school
he hit another child with a baseball bat
charges were pressed, but later dismissed
as the judge said, he's just a kid

a new school provided little change
as his behavior became worse
a psychologist was recommended
but without treatment, for he's just a kid

he became a vicious bully
a liar and a thief
never were there consequences
for he was just a kid

at the age of fifteen
he tried to rob a gas station
in which he was shot and killed
the cop who shot him
couldn't believe he was just a kid

Our society has forgotten how to
raise the children of the world, we no longer
hold them to the same standards we were
taught and in the end we shall suffer dearly
from the results. Get back to the basics, and be
proud knowing you did your best...Happy Holidays
