A Life Of Time.

By Bret Higgins

I’ve worked here, there and not far away.
I’ll be working today.
I’ve been a ticket tout, a roustabout
And a subway shoe-shine.

You’ll work when, then and down at the bay
We’ll all work, so they say.
You’ll be a Dairy Queen, and sell ice cream
To kids at the old mall.

I’m retired, tired and I gave you your say.
I’ll be pruning today.
Trim the new budding roses into lovely new poses;
Sit back and watch them grow.
