That Fateful Day

By Bethanie John

: She awoke that morning to the sound of a chime.
The sun's rays were bleeding into the room
Now listen carefully to this rhyme
This is not just a story but also a poem
The girl here is one of a kind

She ate her pancakes that were lime
She never brushed her hair with a comb.
In church she contributed a dime
She even had a pet rock and gnome
Later she committed a crime

You might wonder does she have to do time.
It wasn't as if she was hiding illegal immigrants in Rome
She was the world's greatest mime
Never had she spoke before, silence was not her crime
Her crime was not so bad you'll find

That fateful day she was cleaning off the slime
that coated the rocks of her dome
As she was scrubbing the rock with grime,
around the rock the ragged rascal ran and yelled "Ow" as she hit the gnome
She was so angry she could explode.

i had to write a poem for english using these elements so yeah
