By Of The Jaded

They exiled me again,
For driving too many friends.
Although I knew the rule,
I decided to use up my fuel.
I picked up my best friend,
Then drove to my cousin's,
On the way home,
I sure learned my lesson.
For guess who was waiting,
At the end of my road,
My father, of course,
Who I wasn't expecting would be home.
He walked to the car,
The look on his face,
Something along the lines of utter disgrace.
The keys hung from the key chain,
Still in the ignition,
But for the rest of the month will be out of commission.
He took them he did,
And laughed as he said.
"When will you learn? You're still just a kid."
Then up the stairs and to my room,
I bounded to avoid the stares,
My father does tend to glare.
He found me again,
And gave me a speech.
About lying and driving,
And what did he teach?
Then on and on, and on did he preach.
When last the door closed behind him,
I fled to my desk,
To share with you this story of my summer loneliness.
So now you know why,
Its just after two,
And I'm sitting at home,
With nothing to do.
If you ever go driving,
And ignore the rule,
Make sure your father isn't home,
There waiting, for you.
For believe me when I say,
This definitely is not the way,
I'd like to spend my summer days,
Locked away,
Surrounded by gloom,
Exiled to my boring old room.
