Driver's Ed

By Lena

It was my first week at Driver’s Ed
And I was more excited than anyone would expect
When my turn finally came to drive
I got in the driver’s seat and listened to the instructor wine
About how I had to fix my mirrors and watch out for blind spots
Telling me instructions and giving me a piece of his teacher’s mind
As if I didn’t already hear it about 20 times!

Then I gave that baby some gas
And next thing I knew
I was rolling at 45
Very excited, heart beating faster than ever
Turning left on an intersection and landing on the wrong lane
Having a car driving towards me and my instructor was going insane

He quickly took the steering wheel and turned it right
All because of that elapsed moment of fright
The guys and girls were cracking up with laughter
In the back seat as if having a fiesta
Next thing I knew he took me back to the school
Said “Pull over Here and walked as if wanting to use the men’s room
By this time I burst into tears
Because I could not control all that happy energy inside

All of us laughing felt really good
Too bad time went by more quickly than it should
Now I sit and reminisce
Of all the amazing moments in driver’s ed. which are worth while to overlook

^^ god do I miss my Driver's Ed. days (tears). I really didn't mean to drive my instructor insane but hey I’m sure everyone had some crazy times when they first started to drive! Anywayz, please comment and rate my poem, I would love to hear what you all think. Peace.
