Those Eighteen Wheels

By Kimberly N. Nelson

Those Eighteen Wheels carried him far and wide.

Brought him back home to his and mine

Those Wheels that drove him far away,
I could now hear from just a mile away.

My heart skips a beat, I jump to me feet
run to the window to sit and seek.

To see my beloved uncle get out of his big
yellow tank.

I flash my bedroom lights to let him know I'm awake.

I raise the window because I'll know he'll
have something to say.

He first waves, then blows me a big kiss.
I hear those four famous words I Love You Babe.

Finally, I'll get some sleep.

Knowing that those Wheels have brought him back home to me once again.

Those Wheels carried him for many more miles.

Then on a pretty September Morning.

We got a call that took our hearts and broke us all apart.

There's been an accident were sorry to say.

Those Eighteen Wheels came to a stop today.

There was just way to much weight.

Your beloved uncle just couldn't wait.

He carried Those Eighteen Wheels right up to Heavens Gate.
