This Special Place

By Donna M. Cotter

Next to the weathered barn, over yonder hill,
is an old bricked-home-place, standing still!
Between the quiet setting of the apple trees,
projects a house filled with fond memories.

We raced across the crooked little bridge,
went down to the brook where tadpoles live.
Stored our memories of, The Good Ole Days,
throwing rocks making ripples of small waves.

The windows reflected the golden sunlight
on little hands flying a home-made kite.
We return now and then with a smiling face
to renew our love, for this special place!
