Life Goes On

By Samantha A. Harvey

When you were young oh the innocent days
Listening trustfully to whatever mommy says
Soon comes the time when you enter first grade
Away from the family six hours a day
Middle school follows with drama and fury
Stores are your homes, education is blurry
Freshman, Sophomore and Junior fly by
With learning the second to gossip and guys
It seems like yesterday when worries were few
Now stress on which college and papers all due
Stress upon stress goals in a mess
And the only success is an employer's "yes"
Soon the prime time is done and years start to zoom
Thirty flies by, fifty hits with a boom!
Now you are only months away from the title you hear a little girl say
"Grandma I need you, come right away!"
Years come and go whether you like it or not
So enjoy life and the things that you've got!
