I sit here on this beautiful Sunday afternoon' on a secluded nature hiking trail.
I am surrounded by the wooded park' full of God's bountiful creation.
I listen closely to the songs of birds' wondering what praises they are giving our creator.
I watch the squirrels stirring about' gathering food for a Sunday brunch.
The songs of birds and rustling of squirrels amongst the fallen leaves' it stirs such emotion deep from within me.
I stop and sit awhile upon the trunk of a fallen tree' to take a moment to listen in quiet meditation.
To feel cool crisp air in the darkened shadows of great oak trees' and warmth of the sun that filters through winters barren trees.
It warms my soul and fills my heart' with such peace and tranquility.
I sit in quiet peaceful solitude' meditating and reflecting upon all God has created.
A branch suddenly falls in the densely filled forest' blown loose by the cool winters breeze.
In times like this I can't help but think' about the woman I love' the wife I dedicate my life to.
I hear a child's laughter carried by the breeze' to gently grace it's presence upon my ears.
It reminds me of my children' how their laughter lightens my heart and lifts my spirit.
I remember just how much my family means to me' how I cherish their lives and the love they give to me.
It's times like this that I bow my head' to give thanks to my God above.
To thank him for this beautiful creation' the life abundant all around me.
To thank him for the life he gave to me' the family he saw fit to bestow their love upon me.
And I make a solemn promise to God and myself' never to take for granted' this life or the love of the people in my life.
I humble myself before him and pray' in quiet peaceful solitude.
