Fathers Day

By Amber K Johnson

Happy Fathers Day to someone who was never there,
Who had enough kids to last a life time but dont show for any of them you care.
Happy Fathers Day to someone who tried to call but by then it was to late,
I was half way grown and for everyday you werent around I grew more hate.
Happy Fathers Day to someone who my happiness you began to take,
You left a whole in my soul because of your thoughtless mistake.
Just one question and the truth I need to know,
Did you really think I wouldnt ever ask why you werent there and did you ever love me so?
So much you couldnt sleep at night and all you did was cry,
Knowing you did wrong and not wanting to admit why.
Did you ever think about what I turned into and who Ive grown to be,
And how it feels to be in high school and my thoughts on turning 14.
Do you ever think about what part of you I share,
And when you think about what great memories you missed,do you feel you cant bare?
Do you wish you could turn back the hands of time,
Do you pray that every moment we werent together you could rewind?
Then stop and play to where you could always be around,
Make me smile when I hear your name instead of a hurtful frown.
Do you ever ask yourself,
