Distant Dad

By Christie C. Adams

You don't know what you are missing,
by not seeing your child.
No hugs at bedtime...no homerun balls.
No trophies to shine in your eyes.
All the money you saved and not sent.
Not paying for his support.
Could never add up to the MILLIONS...
This child is worth.
You don't know what you are missing,
by not seeing your child.
No smiles on Christmas morn'
No hard earned A papers
No thankful kisses on the cheek
NO...
You will never know what you missed.
Not seeing your child.
You'll have none of those memories...
When you are old.
After the money is all gone...
All the parties are over...
And you no longer want your freedom...
And don't want to be alone.
You can try to imagine what you missed.
But, no - YOU WILL NEVER KNOW!
