Completed

By Melissa Hughes

ABC's and 123's,
She's really getting good,
I try to teach her what I know,
Just like a mother should.

Her creative mind is always at work,
Imagining things perfect and pure,
Proud and perfecting her good manners,
She loves to act grownup and mature.

When I'm sad or upset, she comforts me,
And affirms It'll be 'otay'.
Her eyes reveal she's genuinely concerned;
I smile while the hurt flies away.

Her age and innocence might leave one to think,
That she's got so much left to learn,
But I've found when it comes to teaching,
She often gets a turn.

My life has become a living dream,
Because God shared this little girl.
She'll never know to me what she means,
Or how she's completely completed my world.

To my 4 year old princess, Hannah.
