A GRANDMOTHER'S LOVE

By Jacqueline Griffin

I have two dear young grandsons now; the one who's three is brown and wild, with huge round eyes so full of life, and locks of hair dark as the night.

My younger one, still babe in arms, with brown wisps flowing 'round hazel eyes, rosy cheeks and manner mild,...he loves to laugh.

The two of them mirror their mothers;
fair of face, unlike one another.
Growing they will love each other,
sharing all things, they'll be like brothers.

Two little cousins, two years apart, they are to me total delight!
I think of them throughout the day, and then at night I stop to say Thank you Lord!

God is good and full of grace; he spared two small souls at their birth, when death's cruel grip choked breath away, God said Not now, just go away!

I'll do my best as time goes on to teach and guide them both along, the right path God has set before them...
They will know that we adore them.

Who knows what future lies ahead for these two dears, now 'sleep in bed.
Looking up, again I say,...T-H-A-N-K
Y-O-U L-O-R-D!!!
